About Hiop
95% of teams implementing AI in real business settings are failing because of bad data. Hiop helps dev teams with limited expertise to easily ship reliable data in chaotic business environments.
With Hiop, you can annotate business logic to organize your data, and we turn it into a serverless and adaptive data infrastructure, directly, through our novel and proprietary architecture inspired by physical logistics. Like this, we are able to dramatically cut the number of tools, maintenance and effort required by teams that are delivering data to AI-powered systems, business analytics or data-intensive workflows.
If you’ve used a product or service powered by AI, chances are it was built by a team using Hiop behind the scenes. 😊
The Role
We are looking for a Product Manager Intern to work closely with Product and Tech to understand how users interact with the product, turn data and feedback into insights and user stories, help define priorities, backlog and roadmap, and support the creation of product strategy.
This role is ideal for someone with a designer’s mindset — able to break down problems, clarify definitions, design flows, spot friction points and iterate quickly — and with a strong curiosity for technology to collaborate effectively with engineering and ops. Being a developer is a plus, but not required: what matters most is curiosity, rigor, and the willingness to get hands-on with real problems.
Language
Our internal docs and collaboration happen in English — strong proficiency is required. Since we’re based in Italy, fluency in Italian is a big plus.
Key responsibilities
🧩 Product Discovery & Insights
Analyze product usage by reading adoption metrics, qualitative feedback, and market signals to identify opportunities and critical issues
Translate evidence into clear user stories, hypotheses, acceptance criteria, and actionable insights
Help assess issues, impact, and priorities together with the team
📌 Backlog & Roadmap
Support continuous backlog refinement, cleanup, and prioritization
Contribute to defining and updating the roadmap, aligning goals and delivery
Support the team in building analyses and materials that inform product decisions
What are the essential requirements and skills?
🎯 Must-have
Strong, clear, structured and pragmatic communication skills (written & spoken)
Designer mindset: ability to break down problems, clarify definitions, design flows, and iterate fast
Curiosity about AI, data analytics, and deep-tech B2B products
Excellent English proficiency (company language)
Comfort with numbers and analysis (Excel/Sheets); basic SQL or more advanced analysis is a plus
Familiarity with Google Workspace; Jira/Linear/Notion is a plus
Currently enrolled in a Master’s program or recently graduated (e.g., Management Engineering / Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related STEM fields)
Experience we’re looking for
A background or strong interest in Product, Service Design, or adjacent fields, with the willingness to work closely with tech teams on complex B2B problems.
Most importantly: you’re curious, rigorous, and eager to learn fast while working on real product challenges — from onboarding and activation to trust, transparency and control (preview, error handling, audit trail, rollback/versioning).
Benefits
6-month internship (curricular/extracurricular), with potential conversion to a contract afterward
Hybrid working: coworking in Milan, Altamura (BA), Marsala (TP) or another agreed location
Meal vouchers
Tailored training, hands-on mentorship, and growth opportunities in a high-potential, internationally oriented startup
Co-working space in one of the coolest spots in Milan: C30 @OneDayGroup
Young and stimulating environment
Start date: ASAP (flexible based on availability)
